Chapter 3 - Dungeon Design
Alright, let’s get started by checking what I can do...
“Status Open!”
A status window-like interface spreads out before my eyes.
I can see my current points, the size of the dungeon I can create, and various other details.
...Whoa?!
I was half-joking, but a status window actually appeared.
This is straight out of an isekai template...
The controls are... huh, exactly like a smartphone...
It’s almost no different from a game...
I start tapping away, reading through the dungeon creation steps.
The available points are 5,405.
After checking the size of the dungeon I can create with this, it seems I can make a dungeon about the size of a large park.
The points required for things like hot springs and enemy placement... hmm, hmm...
As I fiddle with the window, checking various things, Core-chan is staring at me with wide eyes, looking utterly shocked.
“Huh? Wha... wha-wha-wha-what is that?????”
Huh...?
Did I just do something crazy?
I didn’t expect to pull off an isekai template move right away...
...Wait, what did I even do?
I’m just checking how to operate the dungeon, right?
“Normally, you’d materialize scrolls or books to check the details, right?
What are you even doing???”
Ah...?
Oh... I see... I get it now.
So, the way I imagined checking dungeon information seamlessly materialized as this game-like status screen.
For someone from another world, this kind of thing is completely outside their imagination, and this “Status Open” function isn’t a default feature here.
...That seems to be the case.
Normally, you’d get a bunch of books or scrolls created by the dungeon’s mana, and based on those, you’d manually manage the dungeon... right?
...Ugh.
Just thinking about it makes me not want to do it. What a pain in the ass.
Managing the dungeon with the ease of tapping on a smartphone game?
That’s perfect. That’s exactly what I want.
Thank you, modern IT companies, for your wisdom in user interface design.
Looking closer, the explanations and screens about what I can do with these points...
It’s a total rip-off of that city-building simulation game I used to play obsessively.
Man, this is so convenient. It’s the best.
As I tap away at the screen, checking the dungeon controls, the Dungeon Core is watching me, her eyes darting back and forth in disbelief.
“What is this...? It’s so easy to understand... too easy! This is weird! What is this?! Cheating! How does this even work?!”
While I casually create a temporary dungeon structure with a few taps, the Dungeon Core is freaking out.
I don’t know how Dungeon Cores usually create dungeons, but I’m sure they can’t do it as easily as I am now—expanding caves, placing objects, and canceling things if I don’t like them, all with the simplicity of playing a city-building sim.
I can totally understand why she’s yelling, “Cheating! No fair!”
But hey... this is what it means to dominate with modern knowledge. Sorry, not sorry.
“Alright... let’s make a depression here for the bath... and the beauty effects of the hot spring...”
With the first layer’s miasma power at 10, the hot spring’s skin-beautifying effects are possible.
“Magical skin-beautifying effects: heat rash and mild hand cracks heal quickly, acne fades.
With continuous use for about a week, it can also show some efficacy against severe psoriasis, athlete’s foot, and pockmarks.”
Hmm... that’s a pretty high-quality spring... or rather, its effects.
At the very least, if a hot spring like this existed in my world, it’d be called a miracle spring, and people would flock to it.
“The water temperature... the first layer can go up to 50 degrees... but I don’t need it that hot, 42 degrees is fine.
With this setting, the water volume is 300 liters per point... huh.
...For now, about 50 points’ worth of water per day should be enough, right?
Considering the cost of keeping the water temperature constant, it’s probably better to keep adding hot water slowly rather than letting it cool down.
I’ll have to try it out to know for sure.”
“You can raise the temperature to 50 degrees, you know? You don’t want it at 50?”
“...Yeah, I’ve figured out that you have no clue about humans. Just leave the rest to me.”
“Wha...”
I basically told her, “I don’t need your explanations anymore.”
The Dungeon Core, which had been given a dismissal notice, was now bright red and pouted in frustration.
She probably wanted to explain everything about dungeon creation step by step.
As I watch the flat-chested demon adorably glare at me with her face all red, I quickly finish setting up the dungeon.
“Alright! Done! Hot Spring Dungeon, open for business!”
I press the execute button, and the dungeon begins construction.
— Time until completion: 22 hours and 32 minutes —
So long...
Can’t it be done instantly?
Well, it’s not a game, so I guess construction time is necessary... What a hassle.
“This is weird... It’s too fast... It took me months... just to design the first layer... ugh...”
Core-chan is muttering something behind me, but I decide to ignore her.
